Default MSI Unveils First LED-based All-in-One PC (Wind Top AE2071)

All-in-one (AIO) PCs are quickly becoming a dime a dozen with little to separate one Sandy Bridge or Fusion model from the next. Credit MSI with finding a way to differentiate its new Wind Top AE2071 model from the rest by supposedly being the first in the industry to use an LED panel. Combined with MSI's "unique energy-saving technology," power consumption is reduced by 30 percent compared to conventional CCFL panels, MSI claims.
The LED-backlit panel measures 20 inches and features a 1600x900 resolution. It supports multi-touch input and boasts independent screen controls, so you can turn it off completely without shutting down the system or putting it into standby mode. When turned off, the AE2071's power consumption is reduced by another 28 percent (idle), MSI says.
    Other specs include:

    • Intel Core i3 2100 processor
    • Intel HD Graphics 2000
    • 2GB DDR3-1333 (supports up to 8GB)
    • 500GB SATA II hard drive (7200 RPM)
    • 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi
    • Tray-in DVD burner
    • 6-in-1 memory card reader
    • 2 x 3W speakers with SRS Premium Sound
    • 0.3MP webcam
    • TV tuner (optional)
    • 4 x USB 2.0; 2 x USB 3.0; GbE LAN; HDMI; Mic in/Earphone out
    • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
The Wind Top AE2071 also includes an assortment of MSI's "Military class II components," like solid state capacitors and other higher end parts.
No word yet on price or availability.
