I tried the old way to open to a file I call TEMP. Everything I download goes there and from there I can work on it. This makes trying to locate a recently downloaded file a snap. When I hit Windows Explorer I want to be in Drive E\TEMP.
I opened Windows Explorer and in the address bar I removed the names back to "New Volume (Ewhich is my Windows file. I then clicked on it and then clicked on TEMP. Then at the top of the page I clicked on "Copy Path". I then closed the windows. In my taskbar I right clicked on Windows Explorer then right click again and deleted what was in the "Target box" I then pasted in the "Copy Path" All I can say it worked and when I now press Windows Explorer it opens to my TEMP file.
I name this folder TEMP so Microsoft wouldn't confuse it with their Temp file under Windows. Have been doing this for many years without ever having a problem.
I downloaded the 9 plus 1 optional upgrades from Microsoft and after 20 minutes I got back into Windows 8 Developer. But its all messed up.
I lost everything in my task bar except I.E. and Windows Explorer. When I clecked on Windows Explorer up popped Note Pad. I unpinned from the bar and did a search for Windows Explorer ran it and put it in the task bar. Its work fine but the above doesn't work anymore..
I am now trying to reestablish Fire Fox and Thunderbird but am not doing good at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
